A year ago my 5-ply yarns came in 9 colors. Pretty skimpy. So I've been listening to you and narrowing down all the great possibilities and am happy to announce that there are now 19! |
I had initially steered clear of primary colors. I prefer the interesting seconday, subtle tertiary, and complex quaternary colors, if there are such things. But I had to make an exception for red. No palette is complete without an unabashed red. Red goes with everything, not that it needs any company. I just needed to come up with the right red and believe this is it. My friend Susan Otterson, who's a gifted fiber artist, flipped when she saw it. "I want that color," she said, "Now that's a real French red!" It comes in both 3 and 5 ply in Eden (100% merino). |
A beautiful clear sky blue was also a must have for both my 5-ply and 3-ply yarns. It's in Angelic (75% merino 25% angora) and is just slightly heathery. Simply lovely. And I just noticed it's exactly the same shade of blue that Prada is using for their cable knitted headbands this season. |
And I also added several of our favorite 3-ply colors to the the 5-ply range: Nirvana (92% merino 8% cashmere) moss - a subtle heathery golden brownish green, Angelic nut - a golden oaky burnt caramel kind of nut, Angelic aqua - a soft heathered blue green, fairly light but too interesting to be pastel, Eden grape - a gorgeous cool violet with a little heather to soften it, Eden prune - a deep, rich, chocolatey plum, Angelic clove - a dark heathery brown bordering on taupe, the lovely Nirvana rain - which was used for my Acorns cardigan, and Nirvana earth - a perfect soft mink. |
Please come and see all the new colors and new designs too. We'll be in booth 216 at Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL - August 19-22.
