Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit either.

After my Garden Party sweater came out, a number of people told me they'd love to see something similar, but without the ruffles, and maybe longer in back. |
So here it is ... ta-da! ... and this sweater has so many of my favorite elements - a shawl collar, nice stitch pattern and a long lean back that curves up to an easy open front.
It's worked from the top down with raglan sleeves and in a striking diagonal lace.
The garter-stitch collar and border begins with a provisional cast on. It's worked along with the sweater body and shaped using short rows (the easiest possible - they have no wraps, no yarnovers, no slips and no knit-togethers) that also add a pretty design element.
