Sunday Knits is literally a cottage business,
with my studio located in a small guest cottage
across the courtyard and behind our old limestone house.
Here are a few snapshots from this place that we love and call home ...

Just finished my very first oil painting. It was a learning experience, for sure, but I'm quite pleased.

My second rug hooking project. A stool cover. For something that symbolizes taking it slow, this project went really fast!

FINALLY finished my needlepoint piano bench cover. This took years. Mainly because the process was rather tedious, and I always had something more interesting to work on. But glad I persevered. This is so much more fun than the old fashioned rose bouquet design that was on the bench when we got it.

I love rug hooking! Hand dyed wool strips to create a primitive picture. What's not to love. And this worked up so quickly. My first attempt, but definitely not my last!

I just love my new coiled-rope bowl by Prairie Bag Works! The clever closure helps to keep your yarn strands in place.
Today I'm playing with some ideas for knitted plaid (in brioche and garter) using 3 ply Angelic in bone and Brigadoon in centro. Lots of fun!

Texture meets color, Bohus meets brioche, Nordic meets rustic. This is some very fun knitting!

According to my stepdaughter, there are no step grandmothers. No wonder I love her.
Here she is sharing a laugh with her dad and holding our new granddaughter, Sera (Serafina).
Beautiful, aren't they!

My studio front room ... was wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling boxes until this summer.
Now with some newly expanded "warehouse" space, we are box free. Yay!

I'm just thrilled with the newest collor in my palette, apricot in Eden 3 ply. How beautifully it gets along with absolutely everyone else!

Our skeining room ... once the yarn is skeined it undergoes some wet processing, and then hangs to dry before we twist and label it.

Knit Purl recently asked me if I could share some photos of my mill in Italy. I wasn't able to access those, so painted them an illustrated map of Italy (rather shamelessly inspired by the work of artist Clair Rossiter.)

Oh happy day! A luna!! Coming to live in our garden, I hope.
Correction, this is actually an Imperial moth. Still, very impressive.
