Chiaro Scuro

This funnel-shaped cowl is the perfect way to warm your neck and a bit of your shoulders too! Worked in a simple stranded pattern that lets you move easily from dark to light, creating your very own subtle ombre colorway.

Chiaro Scuro is knitted stranded in the round from the bottom up. It starts with an alternate cable cast-on to set up for a simple rib stitch, and it ends similarly with a simple rib stitch finished by an Italian sewn bind-off.

Lovely cable decreases add drama to the funnel-neck shaping.

For my warm-color sample, I used Sunday Knits sport weight yarns in nine different colors.
And for my cool-color sample, I used Spincycle's Dyed in the Wool in Lapis and Family Jewels.
