At last ... a waterfall sweater that won't fall off your shoulders!

And the fun-to-knit drop-stitch cable border creates a pretty handkerchief hem.

With long slim sleeves. Ribbed edging and cable decreases and increases add nice detail.

Sweater is knit in one piece from bottom to underarms, then worked separately as 2 fronts and a back. Ribbing and cable border are worked continuously with sweater body. Sleeves are worked separately and set in.

Finished chest sizes: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52)". Sizes listed are double the sweater measurement across the back from underarm to underarm. Recommended ease: -2 to +2". Sweater shown is size 36" pictured on a 36" dress form and a 37" model.

Yarn: Sunday Knits 5 ply (137 yd /125 m to 13Ú4 oz / 50 g) Brigadoon (100% merino tweed), Nirvana (92% merino, 8% cashmere), Eden (100% merino) or Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora): 11 (12, 13, 15, 16, 18) skeins. Shown in Brigadoon granite.

Substitute any light worsted weight yarn that works nicely to gauge.

Needles & Notions: Size 8 US / 5.0 mm and size 6 US / 4.0 mm; cable needle or double- pointed needle, stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.

Gauge: 17 sts and 23 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch using larger needles.
