Dijon Forêt

Dijon Forêt is a sweet little garter-stitch jacket.

SImple brioche stitch increases are what form the pretty and unique raglan shaping

The pocket has a pouch shape and is knitted in.

The buttons here are knitted toggles.


Stats

Construction: Dijon Forêt is knitted in one piece from the top down. Brioche stitches create the raglan increases. Short rows shape the neckline. The pouch-shaped pocket is knitted in. Front and neckline band is picked up and knitted.

Finished measurements: 31 (33, 36, 39)(42, 46, 50)(54, 58, 62)" bust circumference. 2-3" ease recommended.

Yarn: Sunday Knits 5 ply yarn (light worsted-weight, 137 yds (125 m) per 50g skein) Angelic (merino angora), Eden (merino), Nirvana (merino cashmere) or Brigadoon (merino tweed): 9 (9, 10, 11)(12, 13, 14)(16, 17, 19) skeins.

Substitute any worsted weight yarn that works nicely to gauge.

Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows = 4" (10 cm) in garter stitch using size 5 ndls.

Needles: Circular needles size US 5 (3.75 mm) long enough to accomodate 300 (300, 310, 320) (320, 340, 370)(400, 420, 450) sts, double-pointed needles: 1 pair size US 5 (3.75 mm); for optional buttons: 1 pair needles size US 2 (2.75 mm).

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn.

Techniques used: Basic brioche, cable cast-on, knitted cast-on, yarnover short rows, reading charts.
