... worked flat in pieces from the bottom and seamed, with set-in sleeves.

Shaping at underarms, sleeve caps and neckline is worked using cable decreases. Short rows shape the shoulders. Live stitches on front shoulders are grafted to bound-off stitches on back for a seamless-looking yet stable seam.

Attached I-cord edges sleeves, hem and neckline.

Finished sizes: 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 44, 48, 52)" chest circumference. Sweater shown measures 36" and is worn with 3" ease on model and 0 ease on dress form.

Yarn: 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 9) skeins Sunday Knits 3 ply sport weight yarn (246 yds / 225 m per 50g skein) in Eden (100% merino) or Nirvana (92% merino 8% cashmere) for main color; 1 20-gm skein each of Nirvana berry, Eden curry and rose, Angelic tomato and wren for colorwork flowers and either Nirvana cedar for leaves on lighter main colors or Angelic khaki for leaves on darker ones. Shown in Eden twig.

Needles & Notions: Size 4 US / 3.5 mm straight or circular needles for body and sleeves, dpn's for attached I-cord trim.

Gauge: 26 sts and 34 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch.
