Piano Lessons

A wide shawl collar wraps all around and behind to form a peplum in this cardigan with a pretty "scales" stitch pattern and raglan shaping.

... Short rows within the garter stitch collar and border provide shaping and add a stylish design element.

Piano Lessons is worked in one piece, in an unusual modular construction, beginning with a provisional cast on at the bottom border (center back), which is worked across from back to front. At the right and left front corners the borders are mitered. While the front borders continue upward, stitches are picked-up and knit to work the sweater body ...

Sleeves are worked separately in the round, joined with the sweater body at underarms, then raglan-shaped to the neckline. The shawl collar continues around to join at the back of the neck.
