Stone Hollow hat

A cushy brioche-style seed stitch makes this hat especially nice and warm.

Knitted seamlessly in the round from the ribbed border ...

... to the finely-shaped crown

Can be made to fit a woman's head or a man's.

Sizes: Ribbing is 17.5" around, hat is 19" around and 7.5 (8.5)" tall, to fit a woman's (man's) head snugly.

Yarn: 1 (2) skeins Sunday Knits 5ply in Eden (100% merino), Nirvana (92% merino, 8% cashmere), Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora) or Brigadoon (100% merino tweed); (each blend has 137 yd / 125 m to 134 oz / 50 g). Shown in Eden iris.
Substitute any light worsted weight yarn that works nicely to gauge: 130 (150) yd.

Needles & Notions: Size 6 US / 4.0 mm and 7 US / 4.5 mm circular needles, size 7 US / 4.5 mm double-pointed needles (dpn), stitch marker, tapestry needle.

Gauge: 15 sts and 40 rows = 4" in pattern stitch on larger needles, 16 sts and 40 rows = 4" in horizontally fully stretched k1-p1 rib on smaller needles.
