Poofy Ribs

Dropping stitch on this ribbed hat is not only fun, but creates an interesting poofy texture. It reminds my of large airy seed pods in the fall, like the ones on the wild cucumber vines that climb over our fences near the edge of the woods.

Finished Size 22" band circumference, 12" depth. Adjust needle size for a smaller or larger hat.

Yarn Sunday Knits 5 ply (125 m/137 yd per 50 gm): Nirvana (92% merino 8% cashmere), Eden (100% merino), Brigadoon (merino tweed) or Angelic (75% merino, 25% angora): 2 50-gm skeins.

Needles Circular or double-pointed US Size 3 (3.25 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) Notions Tapestry needle, stitch marker

Gauge Using larger needles and knitting the round, 24 sts = 4" in pattern stitch.
